Kumble eyes victorious outing Down Under

Bangalore:

Skipper Anil Kumble on Wednesday exuded confidence of performing well in the upcoming Australian tour, saying it would take inspiration from the previous trip to Down Under.

Kumble, who was retained Test Captain for the Australian series, said India had done well in the last tour.

He said India had a 1-0 lead in the last series before the Aussies came back to level the scores, and in the final Test the visitors were in fact in a position to win.

"....hopefully, we will be able to come back (from Australia) victorious...so, that's the immediate goal and challenge," he told reporters.

Kumble stressed that the focus now was on the third and final Test against Pakistan starting here on Saturday, and the home team is keen to wrap up the series. He said the mood in the Indian camp is upbeat.

Asked if the Indians needed to be more aggressive on the field, he said he does not believe in physical game.

"One has to be aggressive with the bat and the ball."

He hinted that he has set a personal goal to take his Test wicket haul beyond 600 mark.

"Individual records will come along the way. Six hundred wickets is probably not too far away. That will come".

Kumble also ruled out reviewing his decision to quit one-day game.
