In the city for their Indian Premier League opener against Delhi Daredevils, some Kings XI Punjab players, including all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and pacer VRV Singh, allegedly breached security by going out without informing the police.
The Chandigarh police have taken a serious note of alleged security breach, saying that some star players including Yuvraj, ignored security directions and went to "unknown destination" without informing the police on Friday.
"Without informing the concerned officials, the players have breached security and violated the security norms which we have put in place for the players," Chandigarh's Superintendent of Police (Security) H S Doon said.
He said that they have sent a complaint to the IPL authorities recommending appropriate action against the players.
It is not for the first time that Yuvraj and some other players have violated security norms.
