Pakistan cricket selectors named test batsman Faisal Iqbal as captain for next month's Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament, the PCB said in a statement.

Pakistan cricket selectors named test batsman Faisal Iqbal as captain for next month's Hong Kong Cricket Sixes tournament, the PCB said in a statement on Saturday.

The tournament will be played Nov.8-9 with Pakistan against archrival India, England and South Africa in the 'Bradman Group.'

Iqbal, nephew of former test captain and coach Javed Miandad, last played a one-day international in 2006 against the West Indies at Multan.

Iqbal, 26, has played 18 one-day internationals since making his debut against Sri Lanka at Lahore in 2000. He has scored 314 runs at an average of 22.42.

The eight-team two-day competition in Hong Kong also features an All-Star team in the 'Sobers Group' that includes Justin Langer (Australia), Stephen Fleming (New Zealand), Shivnarine Chanderpaul (West Indies) and Matthew Hoggard (England).

Defending champion Sri Lanka, host Hong Kong and Australia are the other teams in the Sobers Group.

The sixes matches comprise two innings of five eight-ball overs.

Squad: Faisal Iqbal (captain), Mohammad Salman, Waqas Ahmed, Raheel Majeed, Anwar Ali, Mohammad Talah, Kamran Younis.
