Chennai Super Kings crushed Delhi Daredevils by eight wickets to win their sixth consecutive game in the Indian Premier League 2014. Catch all the highlights here (Scorecard | Commentary | Points Table | Full Schedule):

Dwayne Smith, Man-of-the-Match: The ball came nicely to the bat. We just try to encourage each other. If something goes wrong, we tell each other that we can make up. It was a very good chase for us. All the guys are performing and it's a great team and we can go from strength to strength.

That's the end of this game. It's Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings captain: We played good cricket today but we gave away too many in the last few overs. The rain helped us and it made it difficult for the Daredevils to execute those yorkers. It was a par score and the extra rain made it easier for us. What's important is to back yourself to play the kind of shots you can play. Smith and McCullum do not try anything that is not in their armory. Raina also batted well and stayed till the end. We need to improve our bowling.

Kevin Pietersen, Delhi Daredevils captain: We lost a bit of momentum. I thought some of our boys played really well. Wayne Parnell bowled well and we tied them down in the middle overs. We held the game nicely but the rain sort of affected it. But there are no excuses. Nobody is here to blame anybody. If we can win one or two overs, we can win some games. Anyways we have to win most of the games from here.

Chennai Super Kings win by eight wickets. They never looked uncomfortable chasing a challenging 179, thanks to a solid opening stand between Dwayne Smith () and Brendon McCullum (32). The Super Kings were slowed down after a quick start but Smith continued to play the big shots and he found an able ally in Suresh Raina, who came out all guns blazing. The drizzle made it difficult for the bowlers to grip the ball but credit to the way the Super Kings batted, keeping their cool right through the innings.

22:00 IST: Bowling change for DD with CSK on 23/0 after 3 overs. Unadkat into the attack.

21:55 IST: FOUR! Short from Shami and McCullum was quick to dismiss it from his presence - the ball goes flying off the blade.

Delhi Daredevils face an uphill task of stopping a rampaging Chennai Super Kings as the two sides gear up to lock horns in an Indian Premier League match at Feroz Shah Kotla ground, here on Monday. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK is on a song with five victories on the trot while Delhi hardly have anything to rejoice with four defeats in six outings so far. Even the return to their home turf failed to change DD's fortunes as they copped a five-wicket defeat against Rajasthan Royals on Saturday night.

Delhi have failed to click as a unit and that is a major reason for their misery in the Twenty20 League. In complete contrast, Chennai have been outstanding be it in batting, bowling or fielding. In batting, South African southpaw JP Duminy, and in bowling, India spearhead Mohammed Shami, along with Wayne Parnell, have been the saving grace for them.

Sitting just above the bottom-placed defending champions Mumbai Indians in the eight-team competition, Delhi need a miracle of sorts to move up the ladder and be in reckoning for the knockout stage. Delhi were humiliated by Chennai in the UAE-leg when they lost to them by an embarrassing 93-run margin after being all out for a paltry 84 in a chase of 178.

There has been only one match - against Sunrisers Hyderabad - against whom the manner of defeat was not embarrassing as almost all batsmen contributed even though the effort proved insufficient in the end.

Now Daredevils are in such a mess that they need Ross Taylor, Dinesh Karthik and most importantly skipper Kevin Pietersen to do something special if they aspire further progress in the tournament. Quinton de Kock and Murali Vijay have got runs on and off but there is no time to relax.

However, it is always easier said than done when a team is going through a rough patch. Moreover, they have a team to contend with which can be described with only superlatives. Right from the top to middle and lower order, the batting line-up is equipped with match winners. Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum have given the side the never-before solidity and in the middle order they have players such as Suresh Raina, Dhoni himself and Faf du Plessis.

CSK's attack is also formidable with Ben Hilfenhaus leading from the front. Mohit Sharma has been a revelation while the wily Ravichandran Ashwin always has a trick or two up his sleeves to restrict the rival batsman. If that is not enough, Ravindra Jadeja is there as a big asset for the team with his all round ability. The best way for Delhi is to put pressure on CSK batting- line up and restrict them to a gettable total but saying is one thing and doing it is another. (Read Full Preview)
