- PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi left the Dubai stadium midway through the ceremony, leading to strong crowd reactions
Much like the Men's Asia Cup in 2025, the Women's Asia Cup 2026 has also ended without the trophy being presented to the victorious Indian team. Once again, the Indian team refused to accept the trophy from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief and Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in the continuation of their stance since the Pahalgam terror attack. While the post-match presentation ceremony ended abruptly, fan visuals from the Dubai International Cricket Stadium have provided a clearer picture on what exactly happened.
India did not attend presentation ceremony
An unusually long delay - well over half-an-hour - took place between the end of the match and the start of the trophy presentation ceremony. During that time, the Indian team had an on-field huddle, which was also attended by BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia and BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla.
Following the huddle, fan visuals showed that the Indian team left for their dressing room and did not return to the field to attend the presentation ceremony.

The Indian team was not present on the field when Sri Lanka were given their runners-up awards.
Mohsin Naqvi exited the stadium mid-ceremony
It appears that PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), started to make his way out of the stadium shortly after presenting the runners-up cheque to Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu.
A loud noise from the crowd began to emerge midway through Athapaththu's presentation speech. Fan videos appear to confirm that the commotion occurred due to fans reacting to Naqvi leaving the stadium without presenting the trophy to India.
