Shikhar Dhawan is the MoM for his maiden fifty.
Dhawan:  I enjoyed batting in Ranchi. Happy to have scored my first fifty. I like to play my natural game
22:45 hrs IST: It is all over. India have defeated Sri Lanka by 69 runs, their third biggest victory margin in terms of runs. They have levelled the series in style and the series is nicely set up at Vizag. Final score: India win by 69 runs.
22:36 hrs IST: WICKETS! Bumrah emplys the simple mantra, 'You Miss I Hit'. He traps Senanayake for 0 with a full ball and he cleans up Chameera with a full, fast delivery. Such is the pace of Bumrah that the leg stump is broken in half.

22:05 hrs IST: Oh dear, Rohit has jarred his knee on the outfield as he attempts to stop a Chandimal drive at long off. He limps off but he seems to be fine. The bare outfield, with so many inundations, is a problem.

20:42 hrs IST: Pandya showcases his skills by swiping Rajitha for a boundary to mid wicket. He is not going to hand around.

20:22 hrs IST: The Sri Lankan spinners have pulled things back well since the dismissal of Dhawan. Last five overs, only 30 runs.

20:16 hrs IST: Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane are trying to accelerate. The pitch is becoming sluggish and the ball is keeping low. Dhawan might have fallen at a wrong time.
20:13 hrs IST: Seekkuge Prasanna is getting some deliveries to stay low. Sri Lanka have pulled things back slightly in the next three overs.
20:08 hrs IST: Brilliant start from Milinda Siriwardana, the left-arm orthodox bowler. He angles this delivery on leg stump and it spins across to beat Rohit's defences comprehensively. Ravindra Jadeja will be interested.

© BCCI
19:54 hrs IST: Dhawan now has his highest individual score in Twenty20 internationals, going past 42 which he made against Australia in Melbourne recently. He is looking in awesome touch. India have moved to 70/0 after six overs, run-rate over 11.
19:50 hrs IST: Dhawan has smashed five boundaries in his last six balls. He is really tearing into the Sri Lankan bowlers here. Senanayake gives away 11 runs in his second over.
19:47 hrs IST: Kasun Rajitha is finding out that Twenty20 is a cruel game. From the highs of Pune to the lows of Ranchi. Dhawan slams a hat-trick of boundaries as the bowler concedes 17 runs. India 44/0 after four overs.
19:43 hrs IST: Change of ends for Rajitha. It does not work and he is lofted over mid-off for a one bounce four. This is a great start. Replays in on the Senanayake LBW against Dhawan. He would have been OUT! Ball hit pad first.
19:41 hrs IST: Spin introduced straightaway. Sachithra Senanayake is into the attack. Dhawan survives a close LBW shout but he responds by slog sweeping him for a six to long leg.
19:39 hrs IST: Shikhar Dhawan gets going as he flicks Perera into the stands at deep midwicket for a six. India have started off well.

19:28 hrs IST: Out come the Indian openers. Rohit Sharma fell for 0 in the first Twenty20 in Pune while Shikhar Dhawan played a rash shot to be out for nine. Will they capitalise on this track? Kasun Rajitha, who picked up 3/29, will open the bowling with one slip in place.
19:20 hrs IST: Some people have expressed their surprise that the Indian team has remained unchanged. On this dry pitch, either Harbhajan Singh or Pawan Negi should have gotten a chance. Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra tweeted
No Harbhajan or Negi even on a pitch that's likely to assist spinners...let's see how it pans out tonight. #INDvSL #Surprised
- Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) February 12, 2016

19:00 hrs IST: Sri Lanka have chosen to bowl. Tillakaratne Dilshan returns and Niroshan Dickwella goes out for the visitors. India are unchanged, which is slightly surprising.
18:56 hrs IST: Pawan Negi was warming up before the match. He could make his debut today.

© BCCI
18:53 hrs IST: The fans in Ranchi will be hoping for something special from their hometown hero MS Dhoni. In his last three Twenty20s, Dhoni has managed just 27 runs.
18:51 hrs IST: The Ranchi outfield looks barren. There has not been enough rain in Jharkhand and the groundsman struggled to ensure that the outfield remained grassy.
18:49 hrs IST: Team director Ravi Shastri has offered no excuses for the loss in Ranchi and has said the team is determined to bounce back. Pawan Negi might make his debut today while one confirmed news for Sri Lanka is that Tillakaratne Dilshan returns.
18:44 hrs IST: Kasun Rajitha and Dasun Shanaka. Two bowlers that made a name for themselves in the Pune Twenty20. However, it remains to be seen what kind of impact they have on this track, which will be more suited to spin.
18:35 hrs IST: A warm welcome to the second Twenty20 international between India and Sri Lanka from Ranchi. India have not enjoyed the comforts of home, having lost their last three out of four matches, with one getting abandoned. The hosts will be aiming to get their campaign back on track.

Before the start of the series, India were the world number one ranked side in Twenty20 Internationals. They had clean swept Australia 3-0 and with the comfort of home conditions, the future looked dominating.
However, during the first Twenty20 in Pune, India were presented with a green top and the Sri Lankan pace bowlers, Kasun Rajitha and Dasun Shanaka, ran through the Indian batting to bowl them out for 101, their second-lowest total in Twenty20 Internationals. India stood no chance and they lost the match by five wickets.
During the post-match interviews, skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni labelled the pitch as more English than Indian. He also criticised the batsmen for their shot selection while former skipper Sunil Gavaskar stated that Dhoni had got his calculations wrong.
Ranchi Match The Key For Dhoni
Heading into the second match in Dhoni's home town of Ranchi, the pressure is suddenly on India. Team manager Ravi Shastri has offered no excuses for their loss in Pune. The onus will be on India's famed top order to deliver the goods on what promises to be a batting friendly track.
This is the first time that Ranchi will be hosting a Twenty20 International and it gives the fans a chance to see their local hero perform for possibly the last time at home. Dhoni's own form in the last couple of Twenty20s have been poor and he will be hoping for a turnaround.
India are not expected to make any changes, although Pawan Negi could come in place of Hardik Pandya, who failed with both bat and ball in Pune. Shastri has indicated that all members selected in this series would be given a go in the upcoming matches.
Tillakaratne Dilshan Returns for Sri Lanka
The lack of big names in the Sri Lankan batting has been a problem for them in the last couple of years. With Dinesh Chandimal the only notable name, the pressure will be on him.
However, there is good news as Tillakaratne Dilshan, who missed the first match due to hand injury, is fit and open the innings. Niroshan Dickwella, who opened and kept wickets in the first match, could be dropped, meaning Chandimal could don the gloves again.
