IND vs SL, Day 4 Live: Pitch report

"Much cooler morning here at the SSC. The sun really hasn't broken through. We have to factor in interruptions as we go on. 257 for 6, Sri Lanka made yesterday. Now that tells me that's a good Test match grind. It's not a bad day for either team. 300 for 5 on the first day. Now let us compare if there's been any change in pace and bounce that has been offered here. Each day there's been a slight drop in bounce, but other than that, in terms of pace, it's stayed true. So no real changes. The far end, where all the rough is created, the spinners have plenty to work with. But my focus is on the end the fast bowlers like to bowl in, and these cracks that are opening up," said Russell Arnold.

IND vs SL, Day 4 Live: Here's what Morkel said

"Rishabh, obviously, got hit on the shoulder. I think that was discussed last night, as he is quite badly bruised. I think he was just a little bit restricted in his movement this morning when he tried to warm up," Morkel said in the post-day press conference.

"I think we will keep on monitoring him now overnight and, hopefully, he will be behind the stumps for us tomorrow. I think it is important to have him there, his reading of the game is exceptional," he added.

IND vs SL, Day 4 Live: Will Pant play today?

India bowling coach Morne Morkel on Tuesday said Rishabh Pant is "badly bruised" which is affecting his movement, but hoped to see the wicketkeeper batter return to action on the fourth day of the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka. Pant did not keep wickets for the whole of the third day here, as Dhruv Jurel donned the big gloves.
