Aiden Markram wins the "Best Saver Of The Match" award for taking nine catches in the match. Marco Jansen wins the "Player Of The Match" award while Simon Harmer wins the "Player Of  The Series" award.  

"It's little disappointing. As a team we need to get better. We need to give credit to the opposition. We need to take the learning and stick as a team. They dominated the series but at the same time, you can't take credit for granted. We needed to be clear with our mindset. In the future, we need to learn from it and get better. They played better cricket, cricket demands that you need to capitalise as a team. And we did not do that and that cost us the whole series. The positive will be focussing in our own plan and that's what we will take from this series," said Rishabh Pant.

WOAH!!! What a catch from Marco Jansen as he takes a one-handed blinder to dismiss Mohammed Siraj. With this wicket, South Africa bundle out India at 140 and claim a whopping 408-run victory. This is the worst ever defeat for India in a Test match. With this win, South Africa also sweep the two-match series 2-0. 

OUT!! Keshav Maharaj removes Ravindra Jadeja for 54 as India lose their ninth wicket. Jadeja gets beaten by the slower one and goes way out of the crease. Wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne gets the balls and removes the stumps on time. South Africa now need just one more wicket to win.

Ravindra Jadeja and Sai Sudharsan will aim to take their partnership deeper in this session. For South Africa, Senuran Muthuswamy will be bowling the first over. 

This marks the end of the first session on Day 5 of the second Test between India and South Africa. At Tea, India's score read 90/5 with Ravindra Jadeja (23*) and Sai Sudharsan (14*) standing unbeaten. India still need 459 runs more to win this match. In this session, India lost the wickets of Kuldeep Yadav, Dhruv Jurel, and Rishabh Pant.

WOAH! As we were talking about the careful approach, India skipper Rishabh Pant puts every assumption on hold and starts his attacking cricket. In the previous, he targeted spinner Keshav Maharaj and hammered 10 runs. This included a boundary and a magnificent six. These hittings are entertaining but India need to stay low as they only have six wickets in hand.

After losing two wickets in quick successions, India have completely gone on the backfoot and not taking any chances now. With skipper Rishabh Pant joining the hands with Sai Sudharsan, India are carefully moving ahead in the game. In the previous over of Simon Harmer, the duo scored three runs.

OUT!!! Simon Harmer strikes again in the same over and this time, Dhurv Jurel becomes his prey and departs for 2. A brilliant delivery from Harmer as the ball touches the outside edge and travels towards Aiden Markram, who makes no mistake and takes a terrific catch. Fourth wicket gone for India as skipper Rishabh Pant now walks in.

OUT!!! India run out of luck as Simon Harmer finally strikes and dismisses Kuldeep Yadav 5. Producing a magnificent spin, Harmer knocks him over as the ball rattles the stumps. The nightwatchman for India departs as they lose their third wicket in the chase of 549.

India batters Sai Sudharsan and Kuldeep Yadav are not taking any risks and playing steady cricket. The previous over of Marco Jansen went for a maiden while in the last over of Simon Harmer, Sudharsan scored a single.

What's happening here? Earlier it was Sai Sudharsan and it is Kuldeep Yadav, who survives a close-call. An outside off delivery and Kuldeep plays a defensive shot, which goes towards Aiden Markram at the first slip. However, Markram fails to complete the catch and the India batters quickly take a single. India are riding on their luck.

WOAH!!! What a moment this is!!! Marco Jansen traps Sai Sudharsan with his pace. The ball hits the edge of Sudharsan's bat and wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne takes an easy catch behind the stumps. As the Proteas begin to celebrate the wicket, the on-field umpire signals a no-ball as Jansen had overstepped before delivering the ball. Resulting which, Sudharsan survives.

Sai Sudharsan and Kuldeep Yadav are off to a cautious start on Day 5. In the previous over of Marco Jansen, the duo scored five runs, out of which, four came through byes. The duo need to get some boundaries in the upcoming, in order to release some pressure.

Day 5 of the second Test between India and South Africa begins. For India, Sai Sudharsan and Kuldeep Yadav will be resuming the proceedings from 27/2. The duo need to stick together and form a strong partnership, in order to keep India in the game. On the other hand, Simon Harmer will continue his over from Day 4. Let's play!!! 

Back in 1999-2000, South Africa became the first team to register a clean sweep over India in a Test series in India. Now, after 25 years, the Proteas are on the verge of repeating the heroics. They are eight wickets away from creating the history. 

"We wanted India to spend as much time on their feet out in the field. We wanted them to really grovel, to steal a phrase, bat them completely out the game and then say to them well come and survive on the last day and an hour this evening," South Africa coach Shukri Conrad said in the press conference.

"There was a time that we played to win even in overseas conditions.... Now we are playing to save the match....even in India.. This is what happens when u try to boss around and change things unnecessary which were not broken....," Vikas Kohli wrote in the Threads post.

Head coach Gautam Gambhir will certainly prefer a 0-1 series defeat over a 0-2 result which would be the second series debacle at home against a SENA nation in the past 12 months. Earlier in November 2024, India faced a 0-3 whitewash against New Zealand at home. Now, the defeat against the Proteas severely dent his image as the coach. 

It was a poor shot from Yashasvi Jaiswal. They certainly tested both the openers, and Jaiswal in particular got a lot of short-pitched deliveries from Marco Jansen. Eventually, he fell playing his favourite cut shot -- a shot he has scored many runs from, but also gets out to," said Anil Kumble.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed by the South African all-rounder Marco Jansen for 13 runs. Jansen bowled a short delivery outside off-stump, which the left-handed opener attempted to hit with full power. However, he misjudged it and edged the ball straight to wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne, who took a straightforward catch behind the stumps.

"Little bit (disappointed?), but they're two down now so we'll take that. Wasn't an overs thing (declaration), was more about the time. We had forty minutes after lunch. Thought I'll give it a go (for the hundred), and then when Jadeja came on, that was the last over, so I thought two hits is my best shot. If you were just looking to defend (deliveries out of the rough) I thought you'll be a sitting duck," said Tristan Stubbs

Tristan Stubbs (94 off 180 balls), who missed out on a half-century in the first innings by a solitary run, this time fell short of a Test ton by only six runs. Once Stubbs became Ravindra Jadeja's (4/62 in 28.3 overs) fourth victim, skipper Temba Bavuma declared the second innings having knocked the stuffing out of the Indian team by making them bowl for 78.3 overs.

After South Africa declared their second innings at 260 for 5, India were reeling at 27 for 2 at stumps on Tuesday, having lost openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (13) to Marco Jansen and KL Rahul (6) to Simon Harmer respectively. Sai Sudharsan (2 batting) and night-watchman Kuldeep Yadav (4 batting) were at the crease but it will take a herculean effort from the remaining batters to save the game on the final day and avoid the ignominy of a 0-2 whitewash.

India are chasing a daunting target of 549 and have reached 27 at a loss of two wickets. However, a total of 522 runs are still left to be scored on the fifth and final day of the match. The highest runs scored on Day 5 are 404/3 by Australia, led by the legendary Sir Donald Bradman. It was scored against England in 1948 and became the first ever successful 400-plus run-chase in Test cricket history.
