Australia all-rounder and women's cricket icon Ellyse Perry wins the 'Player of the Match' award. An economical over with the ball, and then a superb innings with the bat. Ashleigh Gardner played a big part too with the bat, while captain Sophie Molineux took two crucial wickets with the ball.

VICTORY for Australia! Georgia Wareham hits the winning runs. India have been eliminated from Women's T20 World Cup 2026. India gave themselves a real chance, but their hopes were dashed by a sensational 100-run partnership between Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner. Australia through as group-toppers, India out!

Half-century for Ellyse Perry! She slams two boundaries in a row, one through mid-wicket, the other straight down the ground. She gets to her fifty in just 33 balls. Gardner slams a 6 too, big hit down the ground.

GONE! Another big wicket for India! Deepti Sharma strikes. Beth Mooney looks to hit it big on the leg-side, doesn't get the timing, Radha Yadav takes a good catch. She throws the ball to the ground in an explosive celebration. One of India's better fielders, Radha has dropped a few in this tournament, but that catch comes at a crucial moment!

Litchfield steps out, looks to go big, but doesn't get great connection. Smriti Mandhana takes a superb running catch at long-on, maintaining her composure. Huge wicket for India!

Phoebe Litchfield is back in her groove! She steps out and slams a 6 off Shafali Verma, over long-off. Litchfield then premeditates a reverse-sweep, nearly gets 4 but ultimately has to settle for a couple of runs. End of Australia's powerplay; they are 6 runs ahead of India at the same stage.

Beth Mooney gets some much-needed boundaries for Australia. She slams a 4 through mid-wicket off Renuka's bowling, and then helps it over square-leg for 4 more, a couple of balls later.

Shafali Verma comes into the attack to bowl the fourth over of the Australian innings, and she does a great job. Just 1 run each of the third and fourth overs. After an aggressive start, Litchfield is struggling.

Renuka Singh Thakur has started really well in the powerplay. Just 1 run off her second over, restricting Phoebe Litchfield to four dots in a row to end the over.

Phoebe Litchfield is up and running! Two glorious shots. First one is pumped through deep mid-wicket with a firm pull for 4. Next ball, she steps out and slams it down the ground for 4 more. Australia may have lost a wicket early on, but they're off to an explosive start regardless.

FOUR and GONE! Georgia Voll departs second ball! After a boundary on the first ball, Voll is trapped on the pads by Renuka Singh Thakur second ball. The umpire gave not out. Harmanpreet Kaur went up with a DRS review, and hawkeye says three reds and out! What a start for India!

She should've been caught at deep extra-cover, but Phoebe Litchfield lets the ball go through her hands for a third 6!

And Harmanpreet finally departs on the penultimate ball. She goes for a big hit again, but this time gets caught at mid-off. Ellyse Perry holds firm. End of a phenomenal innings by Harmanpreet Kaur, she departs for 56 off 27.

Jemimah Rodrigues has been put down twice in the penultimate over! Harmanpreet begins the over with 4 through fine-leg. Jemimah than goes for a big shot over deep square-leg, should've been taken but the fielder ends up dropping it, and to make it worse, it goes over the bar!

She is then dropped the next ball too, this time at deep extra cover. And Jemimah will now be RETIRED OUT. Richa Ghosh comes in, with 1 over to.

GONE! Absolute disaster! Jemimah Rodrigues hits a reverse sweep to third man, Mandhana tries to scramble a single from the non-striker's end, but she is sent back. Mandhana had already come way up the pitch, Australia complete an easy run-out. Mandhana is gone for 38 off 37.

Jemimah appeared to be animated, while Mandhana gave her a pat on the back and walked off.

After missing out on a couple of slower deliveries, Mandhana finally gets her timing right, slamming a 4 over mid-off against Annabel Sutherland. Important for Mandhana to accelerate. She is nearing her fifty, but her strike-rate is just over 100.

10 overs done. Smriti Mandhana is batting on 31. Jemimah Rodrigues has joined her after Shafali Verma's dismissal. Jemimah has hit a boundary already, slamming a 4 through the covers. 

India will hope to hit aggressive from here, another 100 runs must be their target in the remaining 10 overs.

GONE! BOWLED! Shafali Verma departs! Australia captain Sophie Molineux strikes with her very first ball. Shafali looked to give herself room, but missed the delivery, and Molineux hit the stumps! Shafali departs for 34 off 26, first wicket down for India.

Shafali Verma is timing it sweetly against spin, once again she targets Gardner, slamming a 6 over long-on and then a 4 through extra cover. Shafali into the 30s now. Both India openers will be eyeing up half-centuries.

50 comes up for India on the first ball of the eighth over. Mandhana slammed a lovely square-cut in the previous over, but India would ideally want to accelerate from hereon and get well past the run-rate of 7 runs per over.

End of the powerplay. Shafali Verma picked up another boundary in the final over of the powerplay. Cheeky shot for 4, guided through third-man. The big positive for India is that they haven't lost a single wicket in the first six overs.

Another boundary for Smriti Mandhana. That's her fourth 4 of the game. Lovely pull shot from the left-hander. Slowly, but surely, India are increasing the tempo in the powerplay. They have one more over left with the fielders in the circle.

Much-needed boundaries for Shafali Verma! She slams Ashleigh Gardner for 4 over mid-off on the first ball of the over, and then smashes a 6 over long-off on the penultimate delivery!

Another boundary for Smriti Mandhana, but despite the early 4s, she isn't off to a very quick start. In fact, Mandhana has made only 14 runs off her first 15 balls. Lucy Hamilton and Kim Garth have kept India's run-rate under a run-a-ball in the powerplay.

Two boundaries in a row for Smriti Mandhana! India's star opener is in the groove now, slamming Kim Garth for successive 4s through deep mid-wicket. Excellent timing and placement, those are also India's first boundaries of the day.

Garth bounces back really well, and forces three dots on the final three balls of the over.

No player in India's middle-order has more than 100 runs in the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup, with the bulk of the runs having been scored by Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana. It will be imperative for the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, Yastika Bhatia and Richa Ghosh to step up today if India are to post a big total.

Deepti Sharma is one wicket away from becoming the leading wicket-taker in women's internationals.

India are currently second in Group A with 6 points behind Australia. However, South Africa are also on 6 points and a win over Bangladesh will take their tally to 8 points. India have a decent Net Run Rate (NRR) and as a result, a win should be good enough for them to qualify.
