Melbourne:
"We believe the model of bilateral ad-hoc series that have been cricket's structure for the past century is fast becoming an outdated model, and will be unable to cater for the changing cricket landscape," May said in his letter to the governing body.
"FICA believes the structure of the FTP over the next 10 years is crucial to the survival and primacy of international cricket," he was quoted as saying by 'The Australian'.
"With too much meaningless cricket, no window for the multi-billion-dollar IPL and dangerous workloads for leading players, FICA wants the ICC to revisit its recently approved Future Tours Program by hiring outside consultants to create a more equitable program with annual Test and one-day finals series," the newspaper reported.
The ICC is currently busy giving final touches to the FTP post-2012, with two four-year cycles of home-and-away Test, one-day and Twenty20 matches.
"FICA proposes an annual Test and one-day championships culminating in semi-finals and finals. The possible creation of two conferences of four teams each rules out uncompetitive Bangladesh and decimated Zimbabwe, immediately improving the standard of international cricket," the report said.
