Thus S Dhawan's 363 runs in this edition is the highest run aggregate by an Indian batsman in an edition of the tournament.

RA Jadeja finished the tournament with 12 wickets in this edition. He shares the second position with MF Mahroof of Sri Lanka in the record for most wickets in an edition of the tournament. MF Maharoof also had a tally of 12 wickets in 2006 edition. The record for most wickets in an edition is credited to JE Taylor of West Indies who took 13 wickets in 2006

JC Buttler effected nine dismissals, all caught, in this edition and shares the record for most dismissals by an England wicket keeper in an edition with GO Jones. GO Jones had also effected nine dismissals, all caught, in 2004

MS Dhoni and JC Buttler share the record for most dismissals in 2013 edition with nine dismissals each.

NL McCullum set a tournament record for most catches in an innings by taking four catches against England at Cardiff on 16.06.13

KD Mills owns the record for most wickets in the tournament with 28 wickets to his credit. He went past M Muralitharan who had an aggregate of 24 wickets which was the previous record

CH Gayle became the first batsman to score 100 boundary fours, 101 in the tournament

DPMD Jayawardene became the first fieldsman to have an aggregate of 15 catches in the tournament and owns the record for most catches in the tournament. He went past DJ Bravo who has an aggregate of 12 catches

KC Sangakkara became the first wicket keeper to effect 30 plus dismissals (33) in the tournament and owns the record for most dismissals in the tournament

This edition witnessed three hundreds - two by Indian batsman and one by Sri Lakan batsman. KC Sangakkara's 134 not out against England at The Oval on 16.06.13 remains the highest score of this edition

This edition witnessed 35 fifties by batmen of which 17 were in losing cause. As many as eight captain score fifties of which six were in losing cause. There were four occasions of wicket keeper batsmen scoring fifties of which three were in a losing cause.

This edition witnessed the first occasion of rival wicket keeper scoring ducks in the same game - MS Dhoni of India and JC Buttler of England failed to score in the final at Birmingham on 23 .06.13

It also represents the fourth occasion of an England batsman scoring a ninety in the tournament. It also represents the fourth occasion of an opening batsman scoring a ninety and the first occasion of an England opener scoring a ninety in the tournament.

MA Starc returned with figures of 1 for 75 in this game to provide the tenth occasion of a bowler conceding 75 plus runs in the tournament. It also provides the first occasion of an Australian bowler leaking 70 plus runs in the tournament. Thus MA Starc became the most expensive Australian bowler in the tournament. The previous record was held by MS Kasporowics who had conceded 71 runs for his three wickets against India at Dhaka on 28.10.98

GJ Bailey scored 55 in this game to provide the 36th occasion of a captain scoring a fifty in the tournament. It also provides the sixth occasion of an Australian captain scoring a fifty in the tournament. GJ Bailey became the second Australian captain to score a fifty in the tournament after RT Ponting who has scored five fifties. Fifth game - Pakistan vs South Africa at Birmingham on 10.06.13 - South Africa won by 67 runs

South Africa capped CH Morris for this game. He became the 110th cricketer to represent South Africa in one day games. He became the ninth South African cricketer to make his one day debut against Pakistan. He also became the 479th cricketer to represent a team in the tournament and also the 47th South African cricketer to appear in the tournament. He also became the 27th South African cricketer to appear against Pakistan in the tournament

AM Phanginso of South Africa and Umar Amin of Pakistan are also making their first appearance in the tournament and the number of cricketers playing in the tournament stood at 481

CH Morris became the 51st cricketer to make his one day debut in ICC Champions Trophy and is the fourth South African cricketer to make debut in the tournament. Others are - DW Benkinston, AC Dawson and RJ Petersen.

It is interesting to note that as many as ten South African crickets are making their first appearance against Pakistan in the tournament. AB de Villiers is the only cricketer who has played a game earlier against Pakistan in the tournament.

There were four run outs in South Africa's innings - AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, to provide the 65th occasion of four or more batsmen dismissed run out in an innings in the annals of one day games.

AM Phangiso became the second batsman in the tournament to be dismissed run out without facing a delivery after DA Miller who was dismissed in a similar fashion in the game between South Africa and India at Cardiff on 06.06.13, in the opening game of this edition of the tournament.

Sixth game - India vs West Indies at The Oval on 11.06.13 - India won by eight wickets

DJ Sammy with his 56 not out in this game became the first West Indian and seventh batsman overall to score a fifty while batting at number eight in the tournament.

DJ Sammy and KAJ Roach added 51 runs in an unfinished stand for the tenth wicket in this game to provide the second occasion of a team posting 50 plus runs for the tenth wicket in the tournament. The other occasion was - 50 runs between KD Mills and SE Bond in the game between New Zealand and Australia a Col-SSC on 15.09.02

Thus the 51 runs in an unfinished stand for the tenth wicket in this game between DJ Sammy and KAJ Roach represents the record stand for the tenth wicket in the tournament.

RA Jadeja captured 5 for 36 in this game to provide the tenth occasion of a bowler capturing five or more wickets in the tournament. He became the first Indian bowler to capture five or more wickets in the tournament.

RA Jadeja became the third bowler to capture five or more wickets against West Indies in the tournament. Others are - JH Kallis of South Africa - 5 for 30 at Dhaka on 01.11.98 and MF Mahroof of Sri Lanka - 6 for 14 at Mum-BS on 14.10.06

J Charles's 60 in this game represent the 21st occasion of a wicket keeper batsman scoring a fifty in the tournament. J Charles became the first West Indian wicket keeper batsman to score a fifty in the tournament.

RG Sharma and S Dhawan added 101 runs for the first wicket and S Dhawan and KD Karthik added 109 runs in an unfinished third wicket stand in this game to provide the first occasion of a team posting two three figure stands in an innings against West Indies in the tournament.

Eighth game - England vs Sri Lanka at The Oval on 13.06.13 - Sri Lanka won by seven wickets

RMS Erange conceded 80 runs in this game to provide the sixth occasion of a bowler conceding 80 plus run in the tournament. He became the second Sri Lankan bowler to conceded 80 plus runs in the tournament after SL Malinga. SL Malinga had leaked 85 runs against Sri Lanka at Jo'burg on 27.09.09.

AN Cook, 59, IJL Trott 76 and JE Root 68 scored fifties in this game in a losing cause to provide the 73rd , 74th and 75th occasion of batsman's fifties going in vain in the tournament. It also provides the 9th 10th and 11th occasion of England batsmen's fifties going in vain in the tournament.

Tenth game - India vs Pakistan at Birmingham on 15.06.13 - India won by eight wickets

India became the third team to effect 30 plus dismissals in the tournament at the end of this game. Australia, 36 and Sri Lanka, 35 are the other two teams ahead of India in this category of statistics.

Pakistan lost this game to India by eight wickets and with this loss, it owns the record for most losses in the tournaments - eleven losses. It went ahead of West Indies and Zimbabwe which had lost nine games. It also represents its first loss to India in the tournament. It is the first occasion that it lost all the games in the tournament.

Junaid Khan and Mohammad Irfan were run out for duck in this game to provide the 126th and 127th occasion of a batsman dismissed run out in the tournament. It also provides the second and third occasion of Pakistan batsman run out for ducks in the tournament.

England won its 10th game in the tournament. This win is England's first win in the tournament after being dismissed all out while batting first in the tournament. 12th game - Australia vs Sri Lanka at The Oval on 17.06.13 - Sri Lanka won by 20 runs and make Semi finals of the tournament from Group B
