Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh put on 145 runs - the best partnership for the first wicket at this venue, outstripping the 76 between Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden for Australia against India on October 5, 2007.
The best ever partnership for the first wicket for Australia against India is 212 between Geoff Marsh and David Boon at Jaipur on September 7, 1986.
Shane Watson (93 + 3/47) is the second Australian all-rounder after Greg Chappell to post a 90 and capture three wickets in the same match. Chappell had achieved the distinction against New Zealand at Melbourne in 1981
Suresh Raina has posted his 12th fifty - his second against Australia.

Australia's three-run victory is their second narrowest in terms of runs against India in India - the narrowest being by one run at Chennai on October 9, 1987.
