Shaun Marsh (112 off 112 balls) has recorded his maiden century.

Shane Watson and Shaun Marsh put on 145 runs - the best partnership for the first wicket at this venue, outstripping the 76 between Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden for Australia against India on October 5, 2007.

The best ever partnership for the first wicket for Australia against India is 212 between Geoff Marsh and David Boon at Jaipur on September 7, 1986.

Shane Watson (93 + 3/47) is the second Australian all-rounder after Greg Chappell to post a 90 and capture three wickets in the same match. Chappell had achieved the distinction against New Zealand at Melbourne in 1981

Suresh Raina has posted his 12th fifty - his second against Australia.

Sachin became the first batsman to record nine centuries (vs.Australia) against one opponent. His runs' tally of 2995 vs Australia is now a record by a player against any opponent.

Sachin Tendulkar, with his outstanding innings of 175 off 141 balls has equalled the highest by any player against Australia in ODIs. Herschelle Gibbs had posted 175 for South Africa at Johannesburg on March 12, 2006.

Sachin, with four innings of 150 or more, has equalled Sanath Jayasuriya's feat in ODIs.

With his 45th century, Sachin Tendulkar has extended his record. In the course of his great knock, Sachin became the first batsman to aggregate 17,000 runs in ODIs.

Sachin, for the 60th time in ODIs, has been adjudged the Man of the Match.

Australia's three-run victory is their second narrowest in terms of runs against India in India - the narrowest being by one run at Chennai on October 9, 1987.

While batting in the second innings, India's total is the highest. The said total is now the highest losing score in the second outing - the third highest by a team batting second after the 438 for 9 by South Africa against Australia at Johannesburg in 2006 and 350 for nine by New Zealand against Austraia at Hamilton in 2007.

697 runs have been scored for the loss of 14 wickets - a record in Australia-India ODIs.

Australia (350/4) became the first side to register a total of 350-plus against India on Indian soil.

Watson (93 off 89 balls) has recorded his highest innings against India - his tenth fifty in ODIs is his third against India.

Ricky Ponting has become the first Australian to make 2000 runs against India, joining Sanath Jayasuriya (2848), Inzamam-ul-Haq (2403), Ponting (2020) and Saeed Anwar (2002).
