Here are the statistical highlights of Day 3 of the first Test between India and Sri lanka on Wednesday.

Mahela is the first Sri Lankan and the ninth in Test annals to complete 9000 runs in Test Cricket, takaing 178 innings to reach the milestone - the fourth fastest after Rahul Dravid (176), Brian Lara (177) and Ricky Ponting (177)
Jayawardene's innings is the highest individual by a visiting player in India, beating Younis Khan's 267 for Pakistan at Bangalore in 2005.
Mahela now holds a record for the highest runs' tally in India-Sri Lanka Tests - 1436 at an average of 79.77 in 13 Tests against India.
Jayawardene has achieved a rare feat to become the only player in the history of Test Cricket to share world records for three separate standss - 624 for the third wicket with Kumar Sangakkara against South Africa at Colombo SSC in July 2006; 437 for the fourth wicket with Thilan Samaraweera against Pakistan at Karachi in February 2009 and 351 for the sixth wicket with Prasanna Jayawardene against India at Ahmedabad in November 2009.
Mahela Jayawardene and Prasanna Jayawardene have set a world record for the sixth wicket with their 351-run stand, surpassing the 346 between Jack Fingleton and Don Bradman for Australia against England at Melbourne in January 1937.
Four Indian bowlers have conceded 100 runs or more in an innings - Amit Mishra, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma - the third instance for India against Sri Lanka.
Harbhajan (189) has conceded more than 185 runs in an innings for the first time. His previous worst figures in terms of runs conceded were 53.3-6-185-2 against Sri Lanka at Colombo, SSC in August 2001.
Amit Mishra (58-6-203-1) has recorded a dubious distinction, conceding 200 runs in an innings for the first time in Tes cricket.
Mishra became the third Indian bowler to concede 200 runs or more in an innings against Sri Lanka, joining India's Rajesh Chauhan (276) and Anil Kumble (223) - both at Colombo RPS in 1997-98. South Africa's Nicky Boje (221 at Colombo, SSC in 2006) is the only other bowler to concede 200 runs or more in an innins to Sri Lanka.
Virender Sehwag has posted his 19th fifty in Tests - his second against Sri Lanka.
Gautam Gambhir has recorded his 11th fifty in Tests - his fourth against Sri Lanka.
Rahul Dravid (177 & 38) has extended his runs' tally at Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera to 666 (ave.60.54) in six Tests. He is the leading run-getter at this venue.
Sri Lanka have registered their highest total overseas and their second highest in Tests, next only to the 952 for six wickets declared against India at Colombo RPS in August 1997.
Sri Lanka became the first team to register a total of 700 or more against India in India.
Mahela's excellent innings of 275 off 435 balls is his best innings away from home and his highest against India, eclipsing the 242 against India at Colombo, SSC in February 1999.
Mahela's aforesaid knock is his second highest in Test cricket - his career-best being 374 against South Africa at Colombo, SSC in 2006.
