Mahela Jayawardene has received his 9th Man of the Match award.
Sachin Tendulkar is the first to amass 30,000 runs in international cricket.
Tendulkar (1512) is the first to aggregate 1500 runs in India-Sri Lanka Tests.
India have posted 400 in each innings of a Test match for the second time, the first instance being 407 & 407 for 9 wickets declared against Pakistan in the 2004-05 Kolkata Test.
Muttiah Muralitharan (38-6-124-0), for the third time, has recorded a dubious feat, failing to claim a single wicket while conceding 100 or more runs in an innings.
Seven hundreds - 3 by Sri Lanka and 4 by India - is a new record on Indian soil. Both Sri Lanka and India feature for the first time in a Test match, when seven centuries have been made.
Amit Mishra (24 off 51 balls) has registered his best ever innings.
India-Sri Lanka Test at Ahmedabad is the first between the two nations, which could not produce a result. Sri Lanka had lost both the previous Tests to India - by an innings and 17 runs in 1993-94 and by 259 runs in 2005-06.

With two hundreds in successive Tests against New Zealand, followed by one against Sri Lanka at Ahmedabad, Gautam Gambhhir has registered a rare feat.
