Gilchrist eyes another win to seal semifinal berth

Johannesburg:

High on confidence after the last-ball victory against Kolkata Knight Riders, Deccan Chargers skipper Adam Gilchrist is now eyeing another win in their next outing against Kings XI Punjab on Sunday to seal semi-final berth in the IPL.

"We still have two matches and we want to win another match to qualify for the semi-final. This win will hopefully be fresh in our mind during the next match," Gilchrist said after their six-wicket win over tournament laggards Kolkata.

"I am pleased with the way we finished the match. We had a good momentum during the match and I would like to keep it up," he added.

The Australian who scored a breezy 31-ball 43 to give his side a good start against Kolkata, said: "At one point of time I also thought that Kolkata might win the match as Ishant Sharma was doing well, but Rohit (Sharma) guided us to win."

Disappointed after losing yet another close-battle in the Twenty20 tournament, Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Brenden McCullum is now looking at rest of the matches to salvage some pride for his side.

"It's disappointing. We will try to win next couple of games we have. We are trying to be as much positive as we can. You have to keep trying for improvement," he said.

Deccan Chargers' Rohit Sharma, who was adjudged Man of the Match for guiding the team to victory with his 13-ball 32, confessed that he was feeling pressure while facing Mashrafe Mortaza during the last over.

"Yes, there was some pressure during the last over. But I had the belief that we can chase down any target given by opponents," he said after the match.

"Balls were coming on the bat nicely and I was not much worried about the target.

"In the close moment its only after hitting a boundary off Mortaza, I thought we might achieve the target also and went all out," he added.
