Ganguly cheers for Kolkata Knight Riders

Keeping his bitter memories of being shunned by Kolkata Knight Riders behind, Sourav Ganguly finally turned up to cheer for his former Indian Premier League franchise in their match against Kings XI Punjab at Eden Gardens on Saturday.

Sporting a checkered shirt, the former India captain made his presence felt during Knight Riders run chase as he sat in the lower tier of the BC Roy Club house.

The moment he entered into the arena, fans in the jam packed Eden Gardens began cheering 'Dada, Dada' to make it a vibrant atmosphere as team boss Shah Rukh Khan, accompanied by Priyanka Chopra, waved at the former Knight Riders captain.

Ganguly watched the proceedings for a few overs and apparently made a move into the corporate box as the securitymen escorted him out.

While leaving the ground, Ganguly said his appearance seemed to prove lucky for the Knight Riders as they returned to winning ways at home. ( Also Read: Sourav brought luck for us, says Shah Rukh Khan )

After two consecutive losses at home, the Knight Riders won against Delhi Daredevils in their previous match before Saturday's easy victory against Kings XI Punjab.

"I came to watch the match and they won at home after two losses here," Ganguly said with a smile.

"It's nice feeling to watch the match from the Eden Gardens gallery. It was a nice experience," he added.

Ganguly also praised Manoj Tiwary for his superb form, saying, "It's nice to see Tiwary in fine form. He is really in excellent form."

According to CAB officials, Ganguly watched the match from the start as he arrived at the stadium before the game began.

He first preferred to watch the match from the president's box with the likes of CAB chief Jagmohan Dalmiya and Governor MK Narayanan.
