New Delhi:
Delhi Daredevils skipper Gautam Gambhir remains a doubtful starter for their IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders with coach Greg Shipperd saying the final decision on his availability will be taken on Monday.
Gambhir pulled his hamstring during their match against Mumbai Indians on March 17 and eventually missed out of next three matches.
"Gambhir is getting close to fitness. His treatment is going on and he is coming up rapidly. We will take a final call tomorrow. If he misses out tomorrow then may be hopefully he will play in the next match," Shipperd told reporters here.
"As a captain he is keen to play. He scored 72 in his last match and is in good form but he is also an important member of the Indian Twenty20 squad, so we have to be careful," he added.
Asked about their preparation for Monday's match, Shipperd said both the team are evenly poised and have an equal chance to win.
"Kolkata Knight Riders will be a difficult team to beat. They have some dangerous players like (Chris) Gayle and (Shane) Bond. They also looked very sharp in the field yesterday.
"But we also have some good players in (Virender) Sehwag and (David) Warner and youngsters like Kedar Jadhav and Sarabjit Ladda have also impressed a lot. So I feel both the teams will have an equal chance tomorrow," he said.
