England crushed Pakistan by 330 runs in the second Test at Old Trafford to level the four-match series 1-1. Chasing a colossal target of 565, the visitors lost wickets at regular intervals and could manage only 234. James Anderson, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes chipped in with three wickets apiece. Alastair Cook, the England captain, was 76 not out, and vice-captain Joe Root 71 not out.
In the first innings, Pakistan were dismissed for just 198 in reply to England's 589 for eight (declared).
