47.4 OUT! CAUGHT! Sir Andrew Strauss, Chase heard you! And dear Cornwall, what a catch! What a catch! Will come back to that Strauss comment later. First, the ball. Short and outside off, Burns rocks back to cut but is too close to the ball. He gets a thick outside edge as a result and the ball flies thick and fast to first slip. The giant Rahkeem Cornwall there, has barely any time to react but he trusts his instincts. He just thrusts his right hand and the ball sticks! Tremendous reflexes. Chase is ringing the bells again, as his celebration suggests. Now, about the Strauss comment. Sir Andrew Strauss on air, felt that after including an extra spinner in your side, you should not be bowling first. He was just saying 'Hmmmm...' pondering over something else to say when Chase struck. Poor from Burns. Should have carried on! 122/4

Dom Sibley | 5 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
lbw b Kemar Roach
1 OUT! LBW! That is a big, big wicket for West Indies and what a start for the West Indies! Roach this time is successful in attacking the stumps, bowls it on a good length, angling in a bit to the right-hander. Sibley looks to flick this towards mid-wicket but is wrapped on the pads. Roach and West Indies put in a whole-hearted appeal and the umpire raises his dreaded finger. Sibley, who got such a good century in the last Test, departs in the first over in this one. England in trouble early on! 1/1

Joe Root C | 17 | 59 | 0 | 0 | 28.81 |
run out (Roston Chase)
21.3 OUT! Run Out! Excellent work in the field from and Root who was getting in his groove has to depart. Big wicket for the tourists and a big blow for Enngland. Back-to-back run out for Joe Root. The last one was a sacrfice not this time. Floated delivery on off, Burns looks to defend but the ball goes to the right of short third man. Root calls for a quick single and goes for it. Chase gets to the ball quickly and has a shy at the keeper's end. The ball kisses the bail. Root stretches but does not dive. The West Indies players are up in celebration. The umpire goes to the T.V. umpire help. Replay rolls in and shows that the ball kissed the bail and dislodged them and when that happened the English skipper was short of his crease. Had it not been a direct hit, Root would have survived. Just when Joe Root was getting along his innings has been cut short. Brilliant work from Roston Chase! He has had a terrific series in all three departments. West Indies strike one more before Lunch. 47/2

Ben Stokes | 20 | 43 | 2 | 0 | 46.51 |
b Kemar Roach
35 OUT! BOWLED! Stokes stands in disbelief. What happened? A ball has gone through the gate. Massive gap between bat and pad. Kaboom! On a length, just outside off, Stokes looks to defend but a bit lazily. There is no foot movement but the ball moves. There is a big gap between bat and pad and the ball finds that. Off and middle pegs hit. Stokes is a goner! 92/3
|
|||||
Ollie Pope | 91 | 150 | 11 | 0 | 60.66 |
b Shannon Gabriel
89.1 OUT! BOWLED! Pope gets out in the nervous 90s and cannot make use of the life he just got. Just the start West Indies would have wanted. Cornwall will be a relieved man as he put him down on the last ball of Gabriel's last over. Perhaps Shannon decided he won't take the help of anyone else and do the job all by himself. Another peach of a delivery. He bowls it on a length on off and makes the ball jag back in. Pope looks to flick but this ball is just too good for him. He misses and the ball hits him on his back pad and goes onto the off pole. Terrific start for West Indies, exactly the opposite for the hosts. 262/5
|
|||||
Jos Buttler Wk | 67 | 142 | 7 | 2 | 47.18 |
c Jason Holder b Shannon Gabriel
91.4 OUT! Caught! Buttler departs as well and England once again are in trouble. The tourists have been brilliant with the ball this morning and they have their 3rd wicket of the day. Another ball which is in the channel where batsmen hate the most, in and around the off pole. It is on a length and shapes away a bit. Buttler looks to defend but gets a thick outside edge which goes low to second slip. Skipper, Jason Holder there takes a good, sharp catch. The Windies are pumped up and switched. 300 looks farfetched now. 272/7
|
|||||
Chris Woakes | 1 | 8 | 0 | 0 | 12.50 |
b Kemar Roach
91 OUT! Dragged on! Roach has his 200th Test wicket and West Indies' brilliant start to the day continues. They are in pole position now to restrict England to 300. Back of a length delivery outside off, Woakes looks to punch it on the off side with a horizontal bat but he ends up getting an under edge which goes onto rattle the off pole. 267/6

c Jason Holder b Kemar Roach
92.4 OUT! CAUGHT! Roach has his 4th of the innings and England have lost their 8th wicket overall and 4 this morning. Brilliant exhibition of Test match bowling from the pair of Roach and Gabriel this morning. Good length ball once again around off, this ball would have troubled the best of the batters so this was always going to be too good for Archer. He looks to defend but gets a thick outside edge which once again goes low to second slip and the skipper there with his bucket hands takes another one. 280/8
|
|||||
Stuart Broad | 62 | 45 | 9 | 1 | 137.77 |
c Jermaine Blackwood b Roston Chase
107.2 OUT! Broad holes out! End of an excellent innings. He has changed the dynamics of the session and the innings with his blistering 62 off just 45 balls, which has once again put England in the ascendancy. He though will be disappointed with his dismissal. A low full toss on off from Chase. It was there to be put away and Broad gets down on one knee to do so. But he finds the man at deep mid-wicket to perfection with his slog sweep. Blackwood there makes no mistake. 356/9
|
|||||
James Anderson | 11 | 17 | 1 | 0 | 64.70 |
c Rahkeem Cornwall b Jason Holder
111.5 OUT! CAUGHT! The innings and session ends. We do not have to wait for too long to have lunch. A length ball, around off, Anderson looks to drive but without moving his feet. The result is more of a slash and hence, an outside edge is induced. Straight into the hands of Rahkeem Cornwall at first slip. No mistake this time. ENGLAND HAVE BEEN BOWLED OUT FOR 369! 369/10

c Joe Root b Stuart Broad
1.4 OUT! Caught! Broad strikes in his first over and West Indies have lost their first wicket. This is the reason you give the new ball to Broad because he makes things happen. Good length delivery on off, it shapes away just a bit. Brathwaite looks to defend to protect the off pole but the ball takes an outside edge and goes straight to first slip. The England skipper standing at first slip makes no mistake and takes a good catch. 1/1
|
|||||
John Campbell | 32 | 50 | 3 | 0 | 64 |
c Rory Burns b Jofra Archer
17 OUT! CAUGHT! Is that the breakthrough England needed? Archer has provided that. Stupendous bowling from the West Indian playing for England to a West Indian playing for West Indies. Short delivery on middle and off, Campbell looks to hop and defend. But the ball keeps on rising and all he can do is try and get his gloves out of the way. But he can't. The ball goes to gully where Rory Burns completes the formalities. West Indies are 44/2, of which, Campbell made 32! This could effect their scoring now. 44/2

Shai Hope | 17 | 64 | 2 | 0 | 26.56 |
c Jos Buttler b James Anderson
23.2 OUT! CAUGHT! Excellent bowling from Anderson! Shai can only hope for some luck to carry on in this format if he fails in the next innings as well. Good length delivery on off, Hope looks to defend and looks to do so properly. But the late away movement defeats him. That is the type of bowling this king bowls. Can't do much. You know you are beaten, you know you have got an edge. Look back and hope that it does not go to hand. Unfortunately for Shai, there is no hope as Jos Buttler takes it easily. 58/3

Shamarh Brooks | 4 | 20 | 0 | 0 | 20 |
c Jos Buttler b James Anderson
25.3 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Oh, the master, the master, Jimmy is the master! You feel it will come this way but it goes the other way. You feel it will go the other way but it says knock knock, hello! Sensational from Jimmy. He sets Brooks up with a couple of outswingers and then gets this one to swing In. Shamarh is caught off guard, as he fails to pick the shine on the ball. Plays for the outswinger but has to adjust late for the inswinger. Too late. Inside edge is taken and Buttler does the rest. Up goes the finger on the appeal. What a setup. Terrific. 59/4
|
|||||
Roston Chase | 9 | 36 | 0 | 0 | 25 |
lbw b Stuart Broad
34.2 OUT! LBW! More success for Stuart Broad. Huge smile on his face. Chase departs and the West Indies are 5 down. That looked as plumb as it could get. The nip-backer, as it is always called when Stewy bowls. On a length, outside off, Chase looks to stay back and defend. But the ball nips back in and stays low a touch as well. This is just Day 2, so cannot really blame Chase for playing back. Hits Chase on the knee roll as he misses his defense and there is an appeal. Not from Broad. He celebrates first, then as if like an obligation, turns back and asks umpire Kettleborough, who already has his finger up. Now now, Stewy, you don't want to be spending the evening in dad's office, do you? As per the rule, a bowler needs to appeal before celebrating, if it involves the decision of the umpire. Remember, the great Glenn McGrath being warned, around 15 years back for not appealing? Coming to this ball, Ball Tracker shows it to be clipping the bails. 73/5
|
|||||
Jermaine Blackwood | 26 | 45 | 3 | 0 | 57.77 |
b Chris Woakes
42.3 OUT! TIMBER! The middle stump has gone for a toss! Woakes has taken one of the most crucial wickets of the innings as Blackwood has to depart. On a good length on middle, the ball nips back in. Blackwood looks to defend but the ball goes through between bat and pad and crashes into the stumps. West Indies are 6 down now and England into the West Indies lower order now, with just Dowrich the only genuine batsman remaining. 110/6
|
|||||
Jason Holder C | 46 | 82 | 6 | 0 | 56.09 |
lbw b Stuart Broad
58.3 OUT! LBW! No luck for Jason Holder and his valiant knock comes to an end. Broad uses the width of the crease and bowls a length ball pitching around off and coming back in. Holder looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads. Broad is confident he has his man and goes up in his trademark appeal-celebration combo. The umpire agrees with him and raises his finger. Holder knows he is a goner but decides to signal the 'T'. Ultra Edge first rolls in and it shows that there is no bat involved. Time for the all-important Ball Tracker and it shows all reds. The West Indies skipper has to walk back and he takes away a review with him as well. 178/7
|
|||||
Shane Dowrich Wk | 37 | 63 | 5 | 0 | 58.73 |
c Chris Woakes b Stuart Broad
65 OUT! Caught! That is the end of West Indies' innings. Dowrich is the last man to depart and Broad finishes with 6-fer. Excellent stuff from England's talisman. He bangs the deck hard on off, Dowrich looks to pull but mistimes it and ends up lobbying it to mid on. Chris Woakes has a safe pair of hands and he makes no mistake. WEST INDIES ALL OUT FOR 197! 197/10
|
|||||
Rahkeem Cornwall | 10 | 15 | 1 | 0 | 66.66 |
lbw b Stuart Broad
62.2 OUT! LBW! Cornwall departs too and just like his skipper takes away a review. Excellent bowling from Broad. He has his 4th wicket of the innings and he has looked brilliant. His 495th Test victim. Legendary! Good length ball around off and it comes back in. Cornwall looks to play it across the line as he looks to flick. He misses and gets hit on the pads. Broad goes up in appeal along with his teammates and the umpire agrees. Cornwall decides to take the review. Replay rolls in and Ultra Edge first shows no involvement of bat. Time for the Ball Tracker and it shows three reds. Cornwall has to walk back and England just two wickets away from batting again. 188/8

Kemar Roach | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c Joe Root b Stuart Broad
62.5 OUT! Caught! Roach goes for a duck and Broad has his 5th wicket. Another 5-fer for Broad and we are so used to seeing it. Good length ball around off, Roach looks to defend but the ball moves away from him and takes the outside edge of Kemar's bat. It goes low to first slip where Root takes a good catch. 188/9

Dom Sibley | 56 | 132 | 7 | 0 | 42.42 |
lbw b Jason Holder
40.5 OUT! LBW! Sibley has to depart and he takes a review with him. This is the danger of coming too far across your off stump, you're always vulnerable and that is what has happened here. Good length ball on off and coming back in, Sibley comes across and looks to flick but misses. This time the ball hits him low on his pad. Holder goes up in a confident appeal and the umpire agrees with him and raises his finger. Sibley has a word with his partner and decides to opt for the review. Replay rolls in and Ultra Edge shows flat line as the ball goes past the bat. Time for the Ball Tracker and it shows three reds. The search for the first wicket is over and it is the skipper Holder who has given his side that. 114/1

13.3 OUT! LBW! Broad enters the galaxy of greats and he has his 500th Test wicket. Brathwaite three years ago was Anderson's 500th wicket and now he has become his partner Broad's milestone victim. Proud moment for Broad, his friends and family. Broad bowls goes fuller on off, the ball comes back in and also keeps low after pitching. Brathwaite looks to defend but misses and gets hit low on the back foot. Broad and his teammates go up in appeal and the umpire raises his finger. That was as plumb as It could get and Brathwaite has a rare double. 583 balls left in the day, 7 wickets to defend... 45/3

c Joe Root b Stuart Broad
1.3 OUT! Caught! Broad gets his 498th Test victim and that comes from a beauty! Traditional Broad wicket. He has enjoyed bowling to left-handers and has more often than not won the battle against them. Nothing different here. Terrific delivery from Broad. He comes in and bowls it slightly fuller on off, Campbell thinks it will come with the angle but goes the other way. It takes the fat outside edge of his willow and goes straight to first slip. Skipper, Joe Root there makes no mistake and takes a relatively easy catch. Just the start England would have wanted. Nightmare beginning to the chase for the Caribbean nation. 0/1

Kemar Roach | 4 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 80 |
c Jos Buttler b Stuart Broad
3.1 OUT! Caught behind! Two wickets in no time for Broad and make that victim number 499 for him in Tests. He was angry on being dropped from the first Test and he has guided that anger in the right place. The night watchman does not survive the day to see the night. Excellent delivery. It would be good for majority of the top order batsmen, it was going to be too good for the night watchman. Broad bowls it full around off and the ball shapes away a bit. Roach looks to defend but the ball kisses his outside edge and goes straight into the mitts of Buttler. Can he end the day now with wicket no. 500? 6/2
|
|||||
Shai Hope | 31 | 38 | 6 | 0 | 81.57 |
c Stuart Broad b Chris Woakes
18.3 OUT! Caught! Once again Hope gets a start and throws it away. A problem far too frequent in the recent years in the longest format. West Indies in big trouble here and have lost both their overnight batsmen. Woakes gets into the wicket column. Woakes bowls it slightly shorter outside off, Hope looks to pull it but ends up hitting it off the upper half of his bat. The ball goes high in the air in front of mid off. Three players are coming for it but Broad wants to be part of the action so he calls it out loudly. He keeps his eyes on the ball and takes a good catch. Hope's struggle in the longest format continues and there will be a lot of questions asked and he will have to retrospect and think, was that shot really necessary? 71/4

Shamarh Brooks | 22 | 33 | 3 | 0 | 66.66 |
c Jos Buttler b Chris Woakes
21 OUT! Caught! Half the side back in the hut for West Indies! Woakes has his second and the tourists are surrendering without much of a fight here. Good length ball outside off, it nips in just a bit. Brooks looks to drive it towards mid on but without any foot movement and away from his body. The ball shapes in and kisses the inside edge as it goes low to the left of Buttler. He takes an easy catch behind the stumps. Looks like the only way West Indies can save this Test match is by looking up at the skies but at the moment they are not helping the tourists. 79/5

run out (Dom Bess)
26.2 OUT! Run Out! The last thing West Indies needed was a run out and that is what has happened here. Excellent work from Dom Bess! Good length delivery on off, Blackwood plays it towards point and looks for a single. There is a bit of hesitation but they decide to go for it. Bess at backward point runs to his right, gets to the ball and turns. He has to score a direct hit as Buttler has not reached the stumps and Bess does hit the stumps. Excellent from the spinner. Chase is well short of his crease and the umpire does not even go upstairs. Chase does not look back and continues his walk to the pavillion. Brilliant from Bess, he has not had much to do but he has shown his concentration and has done a job when called upon albeit in the field. 87/6

37.1 OUT! CAUGHT! That is all over! Short of a length delivery on leg, Blackwood looks to pull but gets a faint edge. It goes towards the keeper where Jos Buttler dives to his left and takes a good catch. ENGLAND WIN THE MATCH BY 269 RUNS AND WIN THE SERIES 2-1! 129/10

Jason Holder C | 12 | 13 | 2 | 0 | 92.30 |

29 OUT! LBW! Holder did not get any bat on it and it is plumb in front. West Indies' skipper and best batter departs and the tourists are falling like nine pins. Good length ball pitching on off and middle and nipping back in. Holder looks to play it straight but misses and gets hit on the pads. Woakes and co. go up in appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Holder decides to signal the 'T' straightaway. Only an inside edge could probably save him there. Replay rolls in and Ultra Edge shows no involvement of bat. Ball Tracker then comes and brings bad news for Holder as it shows three reds. The skipper departs and along with him goes the tiny tinker of Caribbean hopes of survival. 99/7

lbw b Chris Woakes
34.1 OUT! LBW! No need to review as it looks plumb! Another one bites the dust and this time it is Dowrich. Woakes has his 4th of the innings and this has been a fantastic spell from him. Picked up from where Broad left off. Fuller around off and nipping back in, Dowrich moves across and looks to defend but he misses and gets hit on the pads. The England players go up in appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Dowrich does not even consider about the review and follows the marching orders. 117/8

34.5 OUT! LBW! Woakes joins the party and gets a 5-fer! Cornwall does not last long and a very tough Test match for him comes to an end. Poor footwork from Cornwall. Good length ball on off and angling in. Rahkeem looks to play but with no foot movement and gets trapped in the crease. The ball hits him flush on the pads. Appeal for LBW and the umpire gives Cornwall his marching order. He too does not review and walks to the pavilion. 119/9
