Chennai:
Badrinath said he has a technique that generally works against the pacer and even though life would not be easy in the West Indies, he was confident of coming off with flying colours.
"I am really happy because I have been waiting for such occasions," the middle order batsman said.
"No doubt, I will be tested there. But I am sure the conditions will suit me. I always plan and do well against pace bowlers and hope to play to my potential against the West Indies pacers as well," the Tamil Nadu youngster said.
Badrinath said even though he has not played in the Caribbeans, he has some idea about the conditions there which he expected to stand him in good stead.
"I have not played in the West Indies but having watched my seniors play there in the past, particularly in the 2007 World Cup, in those conditions, I have a fair idea of what is to expect.
"I will assess the conditions once we reach there and settle down quickly," he said.
"I will strive to do my best and work for the team's cause," he added.
