Nagpur:
S Badrinath and Wriddhiman Saha have made their Test debut as VVS Laxman has not yet recovered from his finger injury and Rohit Sharma injured himself in the morning practice ahead of the start of the first Test against South Africa on Saturday.
With these two making their debut, India do not have any fit batsman warming the bench.
A spate of injuries has depleted India's batting line-up as its middle-order has three new comers. Seasoned Rahul Dravid was ruled out even before the start of the series due to cheekbone fracture he sustained during the Bangladesh series as was Yuvraj Singh.
Last time two Indian players made debut in a single Test was four years ago - in March 2006 - when Piyush Chawla and Munaf Patel made their debuts against England at Mohali.
