Lyon drops it flat and short, around off, Rahul goes deep in the crease and shapes up for the cut. He fails to get on top of the bounce and the ball catches the outside edge of the angled bat. It goes low to the right of first slip where Steven Smith anticipates well by taking a couple of steps to his right and flings himself. 2.1 OUT! WHAT A GRAB! Mitchell Marsh is off on a celebratory run! Starc lands it full and outside off, Shubman Gill is lured into the drive and goes at it with hard hands. It flies quickly off the outside edge and goes to the left of gully where Mitchell Marsh leaps across to his left and makes a tough catch look easy. Josh pitches it up and serves it in that teasing line outside the off-stump, Kohli goes chasing the delivery instead of the safer option of leaving it alone. The outside edge is found and the keeper Alex Carey gobbles it with ease around his waist. The Indian skipper has to walk back for another low score and India are now 5 down for 74, trailing by another 371 runs. Cummins goes a bit fuller just around that fifth stump line, tempting the batter to play at it. Rohit Sharma goes after it with not much of conviction which was on display with his lack of foot movement and gets an outside edge straight into the mitts of Alex Carey behind the stumps. Pat Cummins is pumped up and why wouldn't he be? India need 172 more runs to avoid the follow-on.  74/5

66 OUT! CAUGHT! Pat Cummins gets the big fish and the short ball ploy is executed to perfection! Australia believe they can force a follow-on with Jadeja trudging back to the hut! Cummins digs it into the deck, over middle, Ravindra Jadeja is hurried by the pace of the delivery and goes through to crack his pull shot. Doesn't manage to get on top of the bounce and hits it aerially in front of deep square leg where Mitchell Marsh charges in and takes a solid catch with a dive in front. Jadeja goes for 77 (123). 59.5 OUT! DRAGGED ON! Just before this ball, Adam Gilchrist said on air that he felt something was going to happen and right on cue, Pat Cummins has struck for Australia. Nitish Kumar Reddy throws his head back in disappointment. On a back of a length, seaming back in a bit, on off, Nitish Kumar Reddy tries to dab it down on the off side with an angled bat but ends up playing outside the line of the ball. Siraj duly obliges and goes for a full-blooded drive only to get an outside edge that flies to the right of the keeper. Alex Carey dives to that side and takes a sharp catch. India lose their 8th wicket, needing 45 more runs to avoid the follow-on.  201/8

78.5 OUT! STUMPED! Carey appeals for a stumping! The umpires have gone upstairs to see whether it is out or not! The Australians think they have got their man! Travis Head fires it full and outside off, from around the wicket, Akash Deep strides out to defend it but gets beaten on the outside edge as it goes to the keeper. Alex Carey dislodges the bails in no time as he collects the ball. The replays show that there was nothing behind the line and all Akash Deep could manage was to have his back leg on the line, but not any part of it was behind it which makes it an easy decision for the third umpire who deems it OUT. India are then finally bundled out for 260 runs and the 47-run stand for that last wicket is broken by Head. Short of a length, well outside off, Nathan McSweeney for once goes fishing at it and plays away from his body with an angled bat. The ball does not rise as much as McSweeney expected. 6.1 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Jasprit Bumrah is on a roll here! Australia are two down in a jiffy! An uncanny shot from Marnus Labuschagne who so often bats with patience but has to depart for just a run. Jasprit Bumrah keeps it short of a good length and well outside off, shaping away just a touch off the deck. Marnus Labuschagne hangs back and looks to cut it square on the off side but gets an outside edge that goes straight into the mitts of Rishabh Pant behind the stumps. Bumrah now has the most wickets by an Indian in Test cricket in Australia with 52 wickets, going past Kapil Dev's tally of 51.  16/2

14.4 OUT! CAUGHT! Travis Head holes out. Another short one from Siraj, this time around middle and off, hit the deck kind of delivery. Travis Head looks to pull but the ball just gets big on him and lobs off the upper half to the gully region. Rishabh Pant calls for the catch and quickly moves across to take it with ease. Australia lose their 6th for 60 runs with a lead of 245 runs.  60/6

11 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Smith is strangled down leg by Siraj and his happiness knows no bounds! A brilliant take from Rishabh Pant sees Smith trudge back for just 4 runs as Australia lose half their side. Back of a length, angling down leg, Steven Smith stays rooted in the crease and looks to tickle it down leg but only manages to get a feather of an inside edge that brushes the thigh and flies to the left of the keeper. Rishabh Pant does exceptionally well to dive to that side with fully stretched hands and snaffles it in. Australia are 33/5, leading by 218 runs.  33/5

The fun is over for Cummins! Bumrah starts from over the wicket and slips in a slower delivery, on off, Cummins stays low to make the connection and sets himself up to go back over the bowler's head. Gets deceived by the slowness of the delivery and the ball goes straight up off the bottom part of the bat. KL Rahul at cover, runs over his right shoulder and takes the catch.
