Gopi enters quarters in Kanpur

Pullela Gopichand moved into the quarter-finals of the Late Hari Chand Memorial All India badminton tournament with a fluent straight games win against Nement Duggal here today. Gopichand of PSCB registered a 7-1, 7-1, 7-1 win against Duggal of Railways in a second round match. Siddharth Jain (PSCB) defeated Mangresh Palihar (Rly) 7-2, 0-7, 7-1, 5-7, 7-4, while Sachin Ratti (Rly) beat Sushant Saxena (UP) 8-6, 7-2, 7-4 to move into the quarter-finals. Also booking his berth into the last eight was Chetan Anand of ONGC, who defeated Nimesh Goel 7-0, 7-1, 7-1. (PTI)
