Kochi:
He might have missed the bus for the Cricket World Cup, but Indian speedster S Sreesanth has dedicated a song for the good show of the team in the quadrennial mega event starting on February 19.
Sreesanth sang a Hindi number written by himself -- 'Hello Sher Banke Tu Jung lad le' (fight the battle like a lion) during a curtain raiser show of his S-36 band (S for Sreesanth and 36 is his lucky jersey number).
The other song was a romantic number in Tamil -- 'Anbulla Azhake'. The show was held at the Jose Thomas Performing Centre here on Sunday.
He also danced to a number from Hindi film 'Kaminey'. Sreesanth anchored, sang and performed for the audience who were only too happy to see the cricketer in a new avatar, his brother-in-law and playback singer Madhu Balakrishnan and Deepak Warrier, both members of S-36 band, said.
This was the first curtain raiser performance held by the band in the country and similar shows will be held in other cities as well.
Kamran Ahamed, who sang 'Lambi Judai' in the Emran Hashmi starer 'Jannat', is likely to perform with the band in other cities.
The band plans to perform similar shows in Bangalore, Mumbai and Chandigarh before the formal launch in Dubai, after IPL 4, Deepak Warrier said.
Bollywood and South Indian stars are expected to participate in the Dubai event, he said.
