England fast bowler Stuart Broad could miss the rest of the World Cup after suffering a side strain in the dramatic win over South Africa, a team spokesman said Tuesday.
"He is doubtful for the match against Bangladesh on Friday. Scans will be done to see if he stays for the rest of the World Cup," said team spokesman James Avery.
England are already reeling from losing star batsman Kevin Pietersen, who left for home on Monday to undergo a hernia operation.
Broad, 24, has endured a nightmare time with injuries in recent months having missed the last three Ashes Tests with a stomach injury.
He played a vital role, taking 4-15 against South Africa in Chennai on Sunday as England clinched a thrilling six-run win.
