Indian team arrives in Nagpur

The Indian cricket team, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, arrived here this evening for their next World Cup match against South Africa at the VCA stadium in Jamatha on Saturday.
The South Africans have already arrived here and had a training session on Thursday. India will have training session on Friday, the VCA said.
VCA chief Sudhir Dabir and Commissioner of Police, Ankush Dhanvijay told reporters that adequate security arrangements have been made for the match.
Two officers of the rank of Inspector General (IG), two additional commissioners, four deputy commissioners of police/SSP, 21 assistant commissioners of police, 17 police inspectors, 174 police sub-inspectors, 215 constables/head constables and four companies of State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), a total of 1500 policemen would be deployed.
The VCA has made free transport arrangements for fans to reach the venue. One hundred star buses would ply from 9 am onwards from various locations to the VCA stadium. The fans will have to show entry passes for free travel, Dabir said.
