India have been dealt a blow just a day before their World Cup final against Sri Lanka after experienced pacer Ashish Nehra was ruled out because of an injured finger, although skipper MS Dhoni confirmed on Friday that Gautam Gambhir is fully fit.
The Delhi speedster has had previous instances of injury as well but his recent injury during the semi final means that Dhoni will have to choose from Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel and S Sreesanth. If India go in with three pacers on Saturday, then all of them will play, but if they decide to play two pacers, then it will be a toss-up between Sreesanth and Munaf, with Zaheer assured of playing.
In a press conference in Mumbai, Dhoni though confirmed that Gambhir, who went off the field during the match against Pakistan at Mohali, is fit to play in the finals on Saturday.
India had lost Praveen Kumar with an elbow injury and was replaced by Sreesanth.
