Recovering from a thigh injury she suffered about a month-and-a-half ago, Olympic medallist Mirabai Chanu is now "95 per cent fit" but will not compete at the Commonwealth Championships at home next week.

Competing in his first tournament since the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Jeremy was the only one in the 12-lifter field who did not finish (DNF) his event.

On Wednesday, Mirabai Chanu shared a picture with her follow gold medallists Jeremy Lalrinnunga and Achinta Sheuli.

Speaking to NDTV, Lalrinnunga said that he is happy to win the gold for India, but highlighted the fact that he could've done even better.

This is India's fifth medal from weightlifting at CWG 2022 and second gold after Mirabai Chanu's on Saturday.

CWG 2022: Weightlifter Jeremy Lalrinnunga lifted a total of 160kg in the clean and jerk segment to finish with a grand total of 300kg, which is also a new CWG record.
