Serbian third seed Novak Djokovic advanced to the third round of the US Open on Thursday with a 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (8/6) victory over Germany's Philipp Petzschner.

Serbian third seed Novak Djokovic advanced to the third round of the US Open on Thursday with a 7-5, 6-3, 7-6 (8/6) victory over Germany's Philipp Petzschner.
Djokovic, a 2007 US Open runner-up to Roger Federer, will face American James Blake for a berth in the round of 16.
Djokovic also lost to Federer in the US Open semi-finals the past two years and could meet the Swiss star in the same round again this year.
