Fish recovered from an early break of serve to take control of the match that lasted 52 minutes.
The American was leading 5-0 in the second set but fumbled on two match points against the Indian's serve. It took him three more games to finally to close the match.
"The weather was rough, I was too eager to get off the court," said Fish.
"I played one bad game and rushed a bit."
