Sara Errani of Italy won her third Barcelona Open title in four years after beating third-seeded Dominika Cibulkova 6-2, 6-2 in Sunday's final.
The seventh-seeded Errani needed just over an hour to brush aside Cibulkova on the outdoor clay court where she also won in 2011 and 2009. Errani was the runner-up in 2010.
Errani took advantage of Cibulkova's shaky serve and seven double faults to break the Slovak player six times in route to victory.
"Clay courts are probably better for me than for Cibulkova," said Errani. "She hits very hard and is very fast, but while she can hit two winners in a row, she can also hit consecutive errors.
"I knew I had to keep up with her pace, keep the ball deep and be very solid, but also stay aggressive."
It was Errani's second title of the year after her triumph in Acapulco in February.
