Molik advances to Sarasota final

Australian qualifier Alicia Molik had 17 aces in a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Croatia's Iva Majoli on Saturday in the semifinals of the Sarasota Clay Court Classic. "You don't have too many days like that, but I'm glad it came today when I really needed it," said Molik, who had 12 aces in the second set. "I was a little tired from playing all the qualifying matches, but I think I'm getting my second wind now." She will face second-seeded Anastasia Myskina of Russia on Sunday. Myskina beat seventh-seeded Nathalie Dechy of France 6-2, 6-4. Martina Navratilova and Liezel Huber advanced to the doubles final, beating Els Callens and Emilie Loit 6-1, 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2). They will face Shinobu Asagoe and Nana Miyagi, 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 winners over Barbara Schett and Patty Schnyder. (AP)
