Sania Mirza moved into the quarter-finals of the DFS Classic at Birmingham with a 7-5, 6-7, 6-3 victory over Shenay Perry of the US on Wednesday.

Sania Mirza moved into the quarter-finals of the DFS Classic at Birmingham after a hard-fought 7-5, 6-7, 6-3 victory over Shenay Perry of the US on Wednesday. Sania, who has found form in the grass court tournament, had on Tuesday defeated Ukraine's Alona Bondarenko 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 Mirza has been struggling with injuries this season - the latest to her back and wrist - and lost in the first round of five of her 10 tournaments, including the recently-concluded French Open.
