Wimbledon, London :
U.S. Open champion Kim Clijsters has been eliminated in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon by Russian Vera Zvonareva.
The 21st-seeded Zvonareva came back from a set down to win 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 on her second match point when Clijsters netted a forehand on Tuesday.
Clijsters won the first set after breaking the Russian in the eighth game, in which Zvonareva produced two forehand errors and a double fault.
But the eighth-seeded Belgian was no match for Zvonareva in the final two sets, which saw her broken four times.
It is the first time Zvonareva has made the semifinals here.
She will face Tsvetana Pironkova, who upset Venus Williams moments earlier.
