BMW Open: Rochus advances to quarterfinals
Olivier Rochus beat Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo 6-2, 7-6 (6) Thursday for a place in the quarterfinals of the BMW Open.

Olivier Rochus, one of the two seeded players left in the BMW Open, saved a set point and then served out the match to beat Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo 6-2, 7-6 (6) Thursday for a place in the quarterfinals.
Rochus, seeded fifth, fought off the set point in the tiebreaker and then won the next three points to reach the last eight.
His opponent in the quarterfinals will be qualifier Denis Gremelmayr, who reached his first career quarterfinal when he beat Alexander Peya 6-4, 6-4.
Gremelmayr had defeated top-seeded Guillermo Coria in the first round.
''I just hope that I can keep on playing like this,'' the left-handed German said. ''I am just trying to play my best tennis.''
Also, Ivo Karlovic hit his 27th ace to complete a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (8) victory over Bjorn Phau, and Juergen Melzer beat Simon Greul 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
In the quarterfinals, third-seeded Jarkko Nieminen plays Robin Vik, Kristof Vliegen meets Philipp Kohlschreiber and Karlovic faces Melzer. (AP)
