Monika, Pratima add two more golds to Jharkhand's tally

CWG bronze medallist lifter L Monika Devi and Pratima Devi bagged gold medals in their respective categories in the weightlifting event of the 34th National Games at Tata auditorium, here on Thursday.
Monika topped the chart in the 75kg while Pratima dominated the 69kg category as hosts Jharkhand added two more yellow metals to their kitty.
Monika had a total lift of 226 kgs (snatch 100 kgs and clean and jerk 126 kgs) while Pratima managed a lift of 191 kgs (snatch 83 kgs and clean and jerk 108 kgs).
The next best in 75kg category was A Janeshori Devi, who lifted 196 kgs (snatch 90 kgs and clean and jerk 106 kgs) and was followed by Manipur's Premila Devi with a lift of 189 kgs (snatch 83 kgs and clean and jerk 106 kgs.
The silver in the 69kg went to Delhi's K Krishna Kumari, whose effor stood at 183 kgs (snatch 82 kgs and clean and jerk 101 kgs) in the 69 kgs class.
Seeta Jena (Orissa) had to content with a bronze after she lifted total 171 kgs (snatch 76 kgs and clean and jerk 95 kgs).
In the men's 85kg category, Maharashtra's Chandrakant Mali won the gold medal with a lift of 306 kgs including snatch 135kg while Gobind Singh of J&K lifted total 280kg (snatch 130 kgs and clean and jerk 150 kgs) to win silver.
Earlier, Preeshori Devi of Jharkhand had won the gold in the women?s 58 kgs class while SSCB won two gold, one silver and one bronze.
