The 34th National Games will draw to a close with a glittering closing ceremony on Saturday that will see hundreds showcasing the cultural heritage of Jharkhand.
As announced earlier by Jharkhand Olympic Association president R.K. Anand, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will not take part due to earlier engagements. Sports Minister Ajay Maken is likely to attend.
Popular filmstar Katrina Kaif and singer Shaan are likely to regale the crowd. Big Boss participant Claudia has arrived to perform in the closing ceremony.
With the 35th National Games scheduled to be held in Kerala next year, more than 100 performers from that state are to perform on Saturday.
Kerala's traditional form of martial arts Kalaripayattu will be the star attraction. Folk dances from all the participating states would add colour to the cultural extravaganza.
Security has been beefed up at the Mega Sports Complex. Entry of visitors was stopped from 1 p.m. Friday. The 15-day event will conclude with the handing over of the National Games flag to Kerala.
