Vikas Gowda Wins Discus Event in USA
Vikas Gowda, the reigning Commonwealth Games champion and silver winner in 2014 Asian Games, added half a metrE more to his performance at Chula Vista a few days back where he had come up with a throw of 65.25m to qualify for World Championships in Beijing in August.

Ace Indian discus thrower Vikas Gowda continued with his fine form as he came up with an effort of 65.75m to win his event in the Triton Invitational at La Jolla in San Diego in United States on Sunday.
Gowda, the reigning Commonwealth Games champion and silver winner in 2014 Asian Games, added half a metrE more to his performance at Chula Vista a few days back where he had come up with a throw of 65.25m to qualify for World Championships in Beijing in August.
His performance on Sunday was just 25cm short of Rio Olympics qualifying mark.
Chad Wright of Jamaica was second with an effort of 65.03m while Erik Cadee of the Netherlands was third in 64.45m.
The 31-year-old Gowda, who is based in the United States, holds the national record of 66.28m.
