Derek Fisher is out of his suits and back in shorts, finally able to focus on his day job with the Los Angeles Lakers after the NBA's brutal labour negotiations.
The NBA players' union president and Lakers point guard hoisted a few hundred jumpers at the club's training complex on Friday.
Fisher has been working out whenever his schedule permitted, and he has cautious confidence in the labour peace.
The Lakers brass also got back to work this week. New coach Mike Brown finally can start making concrete plans for the first time since he replaced Phil Jackson, while general manager Mitch Kupchak is exploring ways to fit additional depth into the NBA's largest payroll.
The Lakers were swept out of the second round by NBA champion Dallas last season.
