Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma to open the batting for Sunrisers Hyderabad while Thushara will be bowling the first over. MI need a good start because SRH openers have been destructive in the powerplays till now.

"Got Agarwal coming back to the side, will bat at three. Dew is a factor here, but we have been batting well. Got four games left, will probably need to win two of those. But we're not thinking that far ahead."

Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to field against Sunrisers Hyderabad. "Playing for pride," Hardik said when asked about MI's struggles in the competition.

Mumbai Indians hold a slight head-to-head advantage over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Out of the 22 matches that they have played against each other, MI hold a 12-10 lead over SRH.

Five games have been played here this season, 200 has been breached twice. Not a big ground, 61m and 66m square boundaries respectively, 72m down the ground. There's a nice layer of grass, it's a lot more consistent. Majority of the pitch looks nice and flat for batting apart from the full length area. The wicket looks rock hard with no moisture. Dew will probably play a part in the second innings. 200-plus total on the cards reckons Michael Clarke. We are in for some royal entertainment at the Wankhede tonight.

It has been a horrible season for Mumbai Indians. Hardik Pandya's appointment as the captain did not go according to plan and things got worse as they kept losing games. With playoff dreams hanging by a thread, a good show at the later half of the competition will be a big boost for the stars ahead of  T20 World Cup 2024.

Condition 1: First and foremost, the Hardik Pandy-led side has to win all of its remaining three matches in the IPL 2024 league campaign. MI are scheduled to take on the mighty Sunrisers Hyderabad next, with matches against Kolkata Knight Rider and Lucknow Super Giants to follow.

Condition 2: Hope that no other team crosses the 12-point mark in IPL 2024 standings. At present, SRH, LSG and CSK already have 12 points to their name. Hence, at least two of these franchises would need to lose their remaining matches in the league campaign. With KKR and RR already sitting at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots with 16 points each, it is impossible for Mumbai to topple them. In fact, big wins against other teams for KKR and RR would only benefit MI.

Condition 3: Mumbai Indians have a Net Run Rate of -0.356 at present. Even if MI win all of their remaining matches, they would need to do that by big margins in order to get into a positive NRR. But, that might not be enough if the NRR of other teams at 12 points is better than MI.

Rohit played as an impact sub in MI's last game. However, he batted in the nets on both Saturday and Sunday and didn't look in any visible discomfort. It remains to be seen if Rohit will play the same role or not.

Jasprit Bumrah needs 5 Wickets to complete 250 T20 Wickets in Asia. He will become the 14th Player and 6th Indian to achieve it.

Rohit Sharma is only 83 Runs away from 8,000 T20 Runs on Indian Soil. He also needs just 18 runs to reach 11,500 T20 Runs. If Rohit achieves both, he will become only the second Indian player to do so after Virat Kohli.

MI and SRH have endured contrasting seasons so far. While the Hardik Pandya-led side have lost eight of their 11 games thus far, Pat Cummins and co. have won six of their 10 matches. MI need to win all of their remaining games and hope other results go their way in order to make it to the playoffs.
