The surprise element of the day was Sherfane Rutherford and his three massive sixes, the last one of which was a one-handed one smashed over backward point. His onslaught at the end took the DC score to 187/5.

RCB had gotten off to a great start, courtesy Parthiv Patel's early charge. It was Kagiso Rabada who got Parthiv's wicket, also tightening his grip on the Purple Cap.

Virat Kohli seemed to be set for a big innings after Parthiv's wicket. However, he was caught in the deep in an attempt to go big. Kohli's wicket put the brakes on RCB's scoring rate and eventually allowed Delhi Capitals to grab the momentum of the match.

On a day when India's frontline leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal had an economy rate of over 10, Amit Mishra shone for Delhi Capitals. He accounted for two important wickets at a crucial time, and only conceded 29 runs off his four overs.
