Suresh Raina will return from paternity leave to lead Gujarat Lions, who have looked rusty in the last five IPL matches. Raina's inclusion will strengthen GL's top-order batting.
KKR will be missing their best all-rounder Andre Russell. The burly West Indian injured himself in the last match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. His place may go to another West Indian, Jason Holder.
Both GL and KKR are level on points - 14 each after a dozen games. In a small ground like Green Park, where the pitch is expected to be batting friendly, this game could be a tall-scoring one.
For the record, Gujarat Lions had beaten Kolkata Knight Riders by five wickets when they met at Eden Gardens on May 8.
