Kedar Jadhav has been roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the 2016 Indian Premier League season. The 30-year-old Pune all-rounder played for Delhi Daredevils last season.
Jadhav has played four ODIs with a top score of 105 not out against Zimbabwe in Harare in July this year. He has played two Twenty20 internationals as well. (3rd ODI: Kedar Jadhav, Stuart Binny Help India Thrash Zimbabwe, Complete Whitewash)
According to a BCCI release, the first trading window for IPL 2016, which was open from Tuesday, 15 December 2015, to Thursday, 31 December 2015, saw the first trade of the season.
By acquiring middle-order batsman Jadhav, RCB, who boast of a star-studded batting line-up with the likes of Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers, have added more fire-power. Jadhav had caught the spotlight when he slammed a 29-ball 50 for Delhi on his IPL debut.
RCB team owner Vijay Mallya said, "RCB are very pleased to have acquired Kedar Jadhav who, we believe, has the potential to change the course of a T20 game with his finishing talent with the bat. Kedar will add tremendous value to our middle-order and will complement our existing line-up."
The IPL 2016 will be played from April 9 to May 29. With two new teams - Pune and Rajkot - having identified their core players, more players will be up for grabs in the February auction.
