New Delhi:

Hockey India, game's national body, reacted swiftly to the protest launched by Indian women's team and have give Rs 50,000 to each member of the team.

It also said that a further Rs 50,000 to be given later to each player and it will also request the government to give each player Rs 1 lakh.

Days after the Men's hockey team got their incentive cheques after an open revolt, the women's hockey team had launched its protest against the non-payment of their dues.

Though the players did not boycott the camp, unlike their male counterparts, they sported black arm-bands in practise on Thursday as a mark of protest. The team supported the men in their protest wholeheartedly, but was told there was no money to clear their dues.
