New Delhi:
Assistant coach of the Indian hockey team Ramesh Parameshwaran on Saturday hit out at Technical Advisor Ric Charlesworth, saying the Australian demoralised the players much before the start of the Olympic qualifiers in Chile.
Parameshwaran said the Aussie great did not provide any inputs about India's main rival Great Britain nor he give any moral support to the players during the practice in Perth.
"He did not share any inputs about any of the teams when we played at Perth. With regard to Great Britain, he only mentioned the names of their special players and their role but never advised us as to how we could negotiate and counter them on the field," he said.
"Ric was repeatedly telling the players that the Indian team could expect results only after four years and that demoralised the players.
"He did not discuss nor show any keenness to work or share his inputs with chief coach Joaquim Carvalho and the coaching staff," he said.
Parameshwaran alleged that Charlesworth ridiculed the team when it faced defeat.
"(In Perth) when we lost the second game to Western Australia 2-4, he ridiculed the team with a big laughter and deserted the team. He came back to us after we started winning," he said.
