Indian Hockey Federation has invited 25 players from Pakistan to play in the inaugural National Hockey League to be held later this year.
A marketing delegation of the IHF has come back from Pakistan after talking to their federation about sending the players for the NHL, a top IHF official said today.
"It's too early to say who would be coming. We have just given the invitation and the Pakistan Hockey Federation is yet to respond," the official said.
Star-studded league
The matter is likely be discussed in meetings between the hockey officials of the two sides to be held in New Delhi to decide matters pertaining to the upcoming India-Pakistan hockey series.
The official said besides Pakistanis, players from European countries like Germany and Holland could also star in the NHL.
"Our players are getting invitation from foreign countries and similarly the NHL teams would also be looking to have players from abroad in their ranks," he said.
