Danville:
The Longs Drugs Challenge came to a close on Sunday at the Blackhawk Country Club in the shadow of Oakland, California.
Karrie Webb was the one who shined at the LPGA event. She started strong with a birdie on the second hole to give her a six shot lead.
Mexico's Lorena Ochoa made a final round run at Webb, starting the day at four under and gaining seven strokes at one point. She finished with a 66.
Annika Sorenstam also picked up her play on Sunday. The Swede eagled the ninth hole to make up for a bogey on the eighth, to go to 11 under par.
Other standings
Stacy Prammanasudh shot a clean round devoid of any bogeys. Her birdie on the 17th put her at 10 under par where she finished.
She finished tied with Mi Hyun Kim who had the shot of the day with her chip in birdie on the 16th hole.
While not as flashy, Sorenstam kept getting results. She birdied the 17th hole to move to 14 under, just one stroke behind Webb.
Trailing the two was 18-year-old Morgan Pressel, who nearly holed her approach shot on the 17th hole, and finished in third place.
Second place went to Sorenstam when her approach on 18 went long and into the back rough. She missed the chip and settled for par.
Webb tapped in for par and took the one stroke victory, her fourth of the year.
Earlier this season she won the Kraft Nabisco Championship for her seventh major title and also won the Michelob Ultra Open and Evian Masters.(AP)
