French Open: Kei Nishikori routs Jesse Levine in first round

Nishikori missed the French Open last year because of an abdominal injury.

Paris:

Kei Nishikori of Japan routed Jesse Levine of Canada 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 in the first round of the French Open on Monday.

Seeded 13th at Roland Garros, Nishikori is the highest-ranked Japanese man ever at No. 15.

Nishikori warmed up for the clay-court Grand Slam by beating Roger Federer in the third round of the Madrid Open.

Nishikori missed the French Open last year because of an abdominal injury.
