Indianapolis:
Danica Patrick will start Sunday's race in fourth position on the grid - the best starting position by a woman in the classic American event's 89-edition history.
She is only the fourth woman to qualify for the Indianapolis 500.
And her predecessors, among many other admirers, believe she can become the first woman to win despite lack of experience.
"I wouldn't come out here and I wouldn't put my life on the line, if I didn't feel like I could win," says Danica.
Revving up
23-year-old Danica Patrick started her racing career with go-karting in 1992.
Earlier this year, she finished second at the 2000 Formula Ford Festival in England, the highest by an American in the event.
After a horrific crash in March, Danica bounced back with her career best performance - a fourth place finish in Indy Japan 300.
Last week, she was fourth in qualifying for the Indy 500.
Many believe that a win for her on Sunday could go a long way towards reviving the popularity of Indy racing.
