Barcelona: Renault's Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso has became the first Spaniard to win Spanish Grand Prix. The 24-year-old ended Michael Schumacher's hopes of a third win in succession for Ferrari in Barcelona on Sunday. It was Alonso's third win of the season, and 11th of his career. With this, he extended his overall lead over Schumacher to 15 points after six rounds. Schumacher finished second, while Alonso's Italian teammate Giancarlo Fisichella grabbed the third position.
